Education has always been important. This is something that never changed, no matter what society we examine. However, there are still changes at just how important it is. As time marches on, the value of education, its importance and the need for it drastically increase. Unfortunately, this is where the situation in the world, the stagnation, and the economic relations hold us, the society, back. Higher education becomes prohibitively expensive over time, despite the fact that the society’s need for professional experts steadily increases.
Now, we can’t do anything about that. At least, not “we” as in “InDepthGuide.” We can probably do it together, you and us both, but it will be a long road. And this site is not where we should start, anyway. The reason we are talking about education here is a little bit different.
What we can do is to offer a (perhaps) small, but still a substantial reward. These days, many students a former students owe colossal debts, and many are not even able to pay them off. It is quite unfortunate. We cannot help everyone. But a small scholarship, now, this we can do.
We’ve seen others doing this. This is what inspired us. Think about it. If every tenth small business sacrificed $100 for someone’s education, just how much of the collective student loan would be paid off?
In the end, to contribute to the society is just what most of us are inclined to do. Humans are social creatures, and matter how self-centered we believe ourselves to be, we actually care a lot about we are perceived by others.
It’s not just the scholarship what we do. It is also our reviews. No matter how little, but they do help our readers. For instance this one: https://indepthguide.com/best-green-tea/
But this, this is about education and scholarship. So, let’s talk terms.
Now that everything that needs to be said is said, we announce the launch of our annual scholarship program. We can’t help every student, but we can help several. Those who will prove they are better at what they do than the other applicants.
Who can join? Well, any student who wants to participate. We don’t have too many requirements, in fact, we only have several. For one, it doesn’t matter what university or college you’re at or what you study, only that you want to participate.
We are not able to offer a reward to every participant. Only the winner takes the prize, or, in out case, three winners. But that’s the prize itself. It doesn’t mean there are no bonuses for the participation itself. For instance, if you want your work to be actually posted on our website, we can arrange it. But we respect your privacy and will not do so by default, without your clearly expressed consent. We also advise that you check your works for personal detail you might not want to divulge, in case you do want to make it publicly available.
The annual In Depth Guide Scholarship program is effective for the 2017-2018 school year. There are three prizes: $300 certificate, $500 certificate and $1000 certificate. The winner will be given the $1,000 certificate. Of course, it may not be big enough to cover the entirety of a student loan or even what’s left of it to pay off, but even this reward is already something that can help you.
While we don’t have too many requirements as to what students can participate, there still are some. Even if we do welcome everyone to participate, not everyone is eligible. It may be sad, but it’s just how things are in the real world. We recommend not to send us your works if you don’t meet one of the following eligibility requirements.
That being said, we recommend that you acquire this document, whatever it should be for you, before you even participate. The reason for that is that not only do we require that you have it, your GPA is also of importance. If it is less than 3.00, that will render you ineligible. So if you do want to participate before you get your GPA, you should be reasonably sure it will be at least 3 points, otherwise all of your work will be for nothing.
Also, you need to be in-education to be eligible. Does that mean that home-schooled student are not? Not in the slightest! As long as it’s official, they are eligible just as much as any other student. The only other requirement is that they reside in the U.S. This concerns home-schooled students only.
Foreigners are also eligible, if they attend any U.S. institution or a U.S. accredited higher education institution.
The prize is meant to reward students who pursue higher education. If you do not wish to do so, you will not be able to participate.
How to apply
Of course, you will need to apply first if you want to get the prize. That is not to say applying is enough to get the award, but it is a necessary prerequisite. The process of application is uncomplicated. What you need to do is to write an essay. Yes, it’s that simple. But not just any essay. It should be a special essay, written for the In Depth Guide exclusively. Take one of our informational posts, and spin it into your essay. It can be anything, you don’t have to agree with us, or you can introduce something new.
You will also need to provide a proof of your eligibility, but this can be done at a later date, just don’t forget to do it. It will be best if you upload both your essay and the transcript at the same time. You may take steps to disguise and personally identifiable information, but you must leave your name and signatures clearly visible and unobscured.
You will also have to fill out all the fields provided below. Try not to omit anything, or your application will not be processed properly.
You must use a text file format to submit your essay. Submitting it as a picture is not recommended.
The more interesting your essay is, the more chances you will have. That’s a given. But how to make an interesting essay? Feel free to experiment! Give it your all!
Until the beginning of the program, the form is here only for testing purposes. Please don’t use it to upload your essay before the program is officially started. It may fail to go through. Use our email address instead: [email protected].
We are open for discussions.
